At Healthy Smiles, we know that a child’s first experience with a dentist shapes the way they feel about dental care for life. That’s why our mobile dental clinic brings gentle, friendly and professional care directly to kindergartens and schools, making it easy, fun and anxiety-free for young people.
Healthy Smiles Australia is a proud participant of Child Benefit Dental Scheme provided by federal government through Medicare. The program is dedicated to improving children’s oral health nationally and education on preventative dental care. It is available for students aged from 2 to 17 years. Note, eligibility criteria applies.
Our team specialises in working with young children, creating a relaxed and supportive environment where smiles come easily. We focus on education and prevention, teaching kids simple ways to care for their teeth through engaging activities and gentle check-ups.
By bringing dental care to children where they learn and play, we make their first encounters with dentistry happy and memorable, setting the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Our mobile dental clinic visits kindergartens all over Melbourne metropolitan areas and regional areas.
Healthy Smiles Australia is assigned to provide much awaited dental treatment at your child’s kindergarten or school during school hours under the Child Benefit Dental Scheme (CDBS), funded by the Australian Federal Government. Our service for eligible students, comes at no cost to the school or the parents. Students of families not eligible under CDBS will also receive a discounted dental examination.
Eligible children: For children of eligible families the total benefit is capped at $1,120.00 over a two-calendar year period. We confirm the eligibility of the child with Medicare before the visit with our dentist/dental therapist. There is no out of pocket cost to be paid by parents. Parents will be well informed of child’s treatment plan.
Ineligible children: For students not covered under the CDBS, a complimentary dental check-up and treatment plan will be offered.
CDBS is a bulk billed scheme and you can check your eligibility criteria by clicking here or calling Medicare on 132 011.
After a written consent from the parent/guardian, your child will be provided with an oral health education, comprehensive examination, scale clean, fluoride application, fissure sealants (if applicable) and a complete treatment plan.
If your child requires further treatment of teeth (eg, fillings, orthodontic referral, etc), this will be discussed with parents and only done with parent consent and their physical presence.
If you don’t see the answer you’re looking for, the friendly team at Healthy Smiles are always happy to assist.
