Healthy Smiles Australia was initially established as a mobile dental service in 2024, visiting kindergartens and schools all over Melbourne and regional areas from Ballarat, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Geelong, and Mildura.

Building on our experience with a successful mobile dental service, our new clinic in the heart of Niddrie, combines convenience with comprehensive treatments, including general, cosmetic and specialised dental care.

With over three decades of experience, Dr Bill Crawford is a highly respected and trusted member of our Healthy Smiles team. Known for his extensive knowledge, surgical expertise, and warm sense of humour, Dr Crawford puts his patients at ease and inspires confidence in everyone he treats.
Dr Crawford graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1989 and has since developed a strong focus in Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, and Cosmetic Rehabilitation. However, his true passion lies in surgical procedures and dental implants, where his skill and dedication truly shine.
He has completed numerous postgraduate studies in implant dentistry across Australia, including advanced training at the Sydney Medical Facility and Westmead Hospital. Dr Crawford further expanded his expertise internationally, studying under renowned implantologist Professor Aidi Palti in Germany. He has also completed specialised courses in implant placement and restoration with Associate Professor Stephen Chen and Dr Tony Dickinson.
Previously Dr Crawford was the Director of Gisborne Dental Group for over 30 years, where he provided high-quality care to generations of patients.

Laura Nixon completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at Charles Sturt University. Laura has been in the dental industry for 17 years. Starting out as a dental nurse, Laura progressed to practice management and later found herself fulfilling her long-term goal taking on the role as an Oral Health Therapist. Laura spent 2021 working in ACT and Wagga Wagga community health clinics working closely with indigenous communities and gaining valuable experience in paediatric dentistry.
Laura is passionate about oral health promotion and minimal intervention dentistry. Her attention to detail, kind, caring and patient nature helps ensures that her patients have a comfortable and positive experience.
Outside of dentistry you can find Laura enjoying reformer Pilates classes, road tripping to her family holiday home in Echuca, spending time with family and friends and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
